An American startup of artificial intelligence, founded only in February 2025, by an IT origin in Albania, managed, in less than half a year, to obtain an investment of $ 2 billion from large US risk capital funds, according to the Financial Times, quoted by the Start-Up Cafe website.
Following the investment, the Hinking Machines Lab startup was evaluated at $ 10 billion. The financing round was run by the Andreessen Horowitz fund, with the participation of the Conviction Partners Fund.
Thinking Machines Lab has a simple, one -page, currently. The company has no income and has not publicly announced any product.
In contrast, what “jumps in the eyes” of investors is the team of founders, made up mainly of engineers and researchers who have worked for artificial intelligence companies such as Openai, Google or Mistral.
The startup is driven by Mira Murati, like CEO. She was the technology director (CTO) of Openai, the company behind Chatgpt. For a short time, Mira Murati led Openai as interim CEO, when the company co-founder, Sam Altman was temporarily removed from the company, by a group of “pucks” that reproached the organization's orientation.
