The PSD is preparing a first public reaction in relation to the situation of Deputy Prime Minister Dragoș Anastasiu, sources from the party have said. According to them, the party works on a statement announcing that it is delimited by Anastasiu, but will not request its resignation.
The PSD claims that it did not have and has no involvement in the appointment or support of Dragoș Anastasiu in the government supported by the PSD-PNL-USR-UDMR-national, according to sources. Anastasiu is an independent deputy prime minister for reform.
The party led by Sorin Grindeanu is to announce that the documents clearly show that Anastasiu has bribed to the ANAF inspector, according to HotNews sources. The PSD will argue that the attitude of the deputy prime minister towards the law “undermines the credibility and authority as the deputy prime minister in charge of the state reform”.
Social Democrats will not request concretely Anastasiu's resignation, but they will specify that “the state reform cannot be done with a proven bribe and a contravener in a major decision-making role”, stressing that the decision regarding the dismissal of the deputy prime minister belongs to Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan.

The file in which Anastasiu was involved
For 8 years, between 2009-2017, the companies of Deputy Prime Minister Dragoș Anastasiu bribed an ANAF inspector in order not to have problems with controls, according to a DNA investigation, completed two years ago with a definitive sentence of the officer who took a bribe. Anastasiu acknowledged the bribe of ANAF employee both in front of DNA and judges. Neither he nor his employees were charged because his business partner has filed the DNA.
The representatives of the Romanian Government claim that the “circumstances of the case” in which Deputy Prime Minister Dragoș Anastasiu acknowledged in court that his company has bribed an ANAF inspector “have nothing to do with the quality of deputy prime minister and to the duties of Mr. Dragoș Anastasiu”.
