Rosstat estimated the growth of the Russian economy in 2025

Russian GDP in 2025 increased by 1%, follows from Rosstat’s assessment.
The greatest growth was shown by:
- hotels and catering (8.9%);
- public administration (4.8%);
- manufacturing industry (3.9%);
- finance and insurance (3.8%).
Retail trade turnover at the end of the year increased in real terms by 2.6%.
At the same time, some industries showed a decrease in the index of physical volume of added value:
- water supply, sewerage, waste disposal – 3.7%;
- mining – 1.7%.
- provision of electrical energy, gas and steam; air conditioning -1.6%;
- wholesale and retail trade – 1.1%.
Earlier, Rosstat reported a decrease in the production of cars and trucks in 2025. Passenger car production decreased by 11.8% year-on-year last year. Truck production decreased by 32.6% year-on-year.
Also last year, Russia produced 38.4% fewer buses weighing more than five tons. In the previous two years, the production of cars, trucks and buses weighing more than five tons showed recovery growth after a collapse in 2022.
