Nicușor Dan, meeting with PSD, PNL, UDMR and USR leaders tonight / discussions between Government Parties have been blocked

The leaders of the PSD, PNL, UDMR, USR and national minorities met on Wednesday for the third time this week at the Victoria Palace. It was expected to decide today how the ministries will divide, but the discussions ended without a conclusion, sources from the leaders who participated.
Nicușor Dan will meet this evening, from 9 pm, in Cotroceni, with the leaders of the four parties, sources from the parties that negotiate the training of the Government told HotNews.
The negotiations between the leaders of the four parties will be resumed on Thursday, although they initially intended to continue the discussions today, sources from the four parties told HotNews.
“There are still things to clarify,” one of the participants in the meeting that started at 11.00 told Hotnews.
According to the sources cited, the discussions would be resumed on Wednesday. The same sources say that the blockage is on the UDMR requests supported by the PSD.
The meeting of the leaders of the five pro-European formations comes in the context in which President Nicușor Dan on Thursday convened the parliamentary parties for official consultations, and then to nominate a prime minister, most likely to Ilie Bolojan, the interim president of the PNL.
During the negotiations so far, the leaders have also agreed on a rotary of the prime ministers, Bolojan being the first and the one who will take on the tax reforms in front of the Parliament, sources from the four parties told HotNews. In the future coalition agreement, both the rotary and the date on which Ilie Bolojan's mandate will end will be completed, and the executive management will be taken over by a PSD prime minister.
The division of ministries
From the hotnews information so far inside the four parties, the PSD will have 6 ministries and the position of Secretary General of the Government, PNL and USR will have 4 portfolios, and UDMR 2, as follows:
PSD

- transport
- Work
- Agriculture
- Health
PNL
- Ministry of Interior
- Finance
- Education
USR
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- Defense
- Economy
- environment
Udmr
The ministries of energy and European funds have not yet been decided.
For the Ministry of Health, which would remain at the PSD, among the names are Alexandru Rogobete, the chairman of the Health Commission of the Chamber of Deputies and Carmen Orban – a member of the Senate Health Commission. The Ministry of Transport would be led by Ciprian Șerban, the current president of the Chamber of Deputies.
In the package with the portfolios of the ministers, other functions are discussed. For example, the head of the Chamber of Deputies will return the PSD and will be busy, according to Hotnews information by Sorin Grindeanu. The head of the Senate returns PNL, although there was a discussion in which USR representatives wanted to obtain the function of the second man in the state. The USR receives the People's Advocate, and the UDMR appointment to a judge at the Constitutional Court.
In an intervention at RFI Wednesday morning, the UDMR leader, Kelemen Hunor, said that the presence of the UDMR in the future government is not safe.
“Why is it safe? If you can without us? There is no altruism in politics, it is just arithmetic. When you are just decor, you have no tools, you have no strength ministries, then you are there just to be a decor. That was in 2023,” he said.
The appointment of the prime minister and hearings
The Presidential Administration announced that consultations with the parliamentary parties will take place on Thursday. The next step is to designate the prime minister.
The negotiations will start on Thursday with the PSD delegation, from 11.00 am, and will end at 14.30, with that of national minorities. Consultations are the last constitutional step before the president officially announces who is appointed prime minister.
On Friday, the PSD will decide, through an internal referendum, whether or not it enters the government. On Saturday, the parties would establish who will occupy the minister's armchairs, and Monday from 09:00 to start the hearings of future ministers in Parliament. Then, the Government will have to receive the vote in the reunited plenary of the two chambers in the Parliament and take the oath in front of President Nicușor Dan.
