The annual chess tournament in Borodino united the strongest players from the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Irkutsk region. SuEK-Krasnoyarsk provided support in a large-scale tournament.
“We remember our heroes, and while the memory is alive-we can’t defeat us!”, Andrei Velikoselsky noted, welcoming the participants of the tournament for the economy and finance of JSC Suek-Krasnoyarsk.
Borodino is rightfully not only the mining, but also the chess capital of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Chess here has been popular since the first builders of the city and the Borodino section – veterans of the Great Patriotic War. Today, thanks to the support of coal miners, chess traditions in Borodino are stronger – more and more children are engaged in chess, successfully participate in competitions of urban, regional, interregional and Russian levels.
The current tournament united different generations of chess players – from younger schoolchildren to veterans, from those who are taking the first steps in the world of chess to masters of sports.
“This is the first time at the chess tournament in Borodino, although people are all familiar: they played in regional tournaments, I saw everyone since childhood, when I just started playing,” says Master Fide, a chess player from Krasnoyarsk. – Today I devote participation to my great -grandfather Vasily Krutikov, who fought on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War and reached Berlin. I think that every family has such stories, their own fraudsters, rear-rear cars. How many people I know, this terrible war touched every family. ”

The exhibition “Chess in the War” with photo portraits of famous military commander, who were passionate about this art and saw chess as an element of military training, resembled the military ink -lacker on the tournament.
The results of the tournament to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory were summed up in several nominations-among children, and separately encouraged boys and girls, in the personal standings among adults, employees of SUEK-Krasnoyarsk, in a ladies' tournament, a generation tournament. The most intense parties were played in a team tournament, according to the results of which a team of guests from Irkutsk escaped ahead, the second place among Suek-Krasnoyarsk athletes, the coal miners of the Borodino section became third.
Winners and prize-winners were awarded diplomas, medals and commemorative gifts from Suek-Krasnoyarsk.
