“Washington Post” detected violations in his system on Thursday and reset the login details of all employees – CNN portal said on Sunday, which reached the internal note of the editor.
“The investigation is ongoing, but we think that the incident concerns a limited number of journalists. We are in touch with those who were attacked,” the editor -in -chief of “WP” Matt Murray said.
It is known that the goal of hackers were Microsoft accounts of journalists involved in security matters, economy and China. According to the Wall Street Journal, hackers could access the content of messages received and sent on mailboxes.
It is not clear who stands behind the cyber attack, but “WSJ” suggests that it is probably a state -owned foreign entity. The New York daily was alone for several years in the crosshairs of the Chinese hacker campaign, detected in 2022. (PAP)
