Deputy Prime Minister, head of the Ministry of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz announced on Friday that next week the first AH-64D Apache helicopters will be picked up, which will be used by the Polish Army, including for training.

“Next week I will be in Inowrocław, where we will receive the first Polish Apache, which we implement on the basis of a contract signed last year, and supplemented with leasing this year,” said the head of the Ministry of National Defense at a conference in Dęblin.
As he said, the army has a “huge number of pilots” to train, and training procedures are currently simplified.
Helicopters will be transferred to Poland as part of the Air Base in Latków near Inowrocław (Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship) concluded in February-the United States will transfer 8 AH-64D Apache helicopters to the Polish Army. These helicopters will reach Poland before the 96 pieces of Apache ordered last year in the most modern version of the AH-64E version, and allow, among others for the first start of crew training and technical service.
Leasing helicopters is to be the so -called Bridging solution – i.e. preventing a situation in which old equipment will be withdrawn from use and the ordered new one will not yet be implemented. (PAP)
