The celebration of Russia Day in the Krasnoyarsk Territory began with a solemn ceremony of raising the State Flag of the Russian Federation. This was told in the administration of the press service of the governor.

The tricolor to the sounds of the anthem was raised on a 100-meter flagpole on the Nikolaev hill in Krasnoyarsk. The event was attended by more than 200 people – representatives of the executive and legislative power of the region, youth and volunteer movements, participants of their own and members of their families, fighters of the regional student detachment.

In a festive atmosphere, the head of the region Mikhail Kotyukov and the head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Krasnoyarsk Territory Alexander Solovyov presented passports to 35 schoolchildren from cities and regions of the region. The guys are the winners of the Olympiads and sports competitions, the winners of creative competitions, activists of public and volunteer movements. Each of them has its own aspirations and dreams, but all plans are associated with the prosperity of their native country.

“Guys, I’m sure that you will remember the receipt of a passport on the day of Russia for life. You are the citizens of your country, now you have new opportunities and new rights, but at the same time – a new responsibility. You have already proved that you are ready to take this responsibility, to be leaders, to do more than others do. I want to thank your parents, teachers and mentors for being able to convey to you the energy of creation, the energy of overcoming. And for a second I have no doubt that in your reliable hands the future of Russia will be bright, sovereign, young and energetic, ”the governor said.

Together with the document, schoolchildren were awarded copies of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, as well as attributes of participants in the “Movement of the First”. At the end of the ceremony, the young Russians made the oath of a citizen of the country.

Recall that the Day of Russia as an official state holiday begins its history on June 12, 1990, when the first congress of people's deputies of the RSFSR adopted a declaration of state sovereignty of the country. From this moment, the Constitution has become the main document of the Russian Federation with the highest legal force.

The festive day became in 1992, in the calendar it was listed as the day of the adoption of the declaration of state sovereignty of Russia, in 2002 its name was enshrined in the Labor Code as the Day of Russia.
