The government has defended itself, and now it will have to shrink. Tusk: Modern model possible

The government's work model after reconstruction is to be as modern as possible, and the Council of Ministers itself is to be less numerous – Prime Minister Donald Tusk informed journalists in the Sejm. In addition, he added that a spokesman for a government should be presented within a week.

“I have a full agreement with Marshal Szymon Hołownia, Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak -Kamysz and Marshal Włodzimierz Czarzasty, that there is agreement on their part that after I present them a new government construction – e.g. there will government reconstruction.

“I would like these conversations about the future government, because it will be a slightly different row, be marked by mutual trust and loyalty, that nobody would think that someone wants to beat someone, but that it was one of the best possible construction and I have been sitting for many days that this model was as modern and cheaper as possible, in this context that it certainly doesn't have to be 117 people” – added Tusk.

He added that he hoped that during talks with coalition leaders he managed to convince them not to think about personalities and numbers.

“Personnel will not be crucial (…) but how to build a row certainly a little smaller and focused on key matters,” said the prime minister.

He also added that he did not want to interfere in issues of the position of the Speaker of the Sejm, but he added that he could see no reason that the provisions in this matter registered in the current coalition agreement would not apply.

“This is not the task of the government and the prime minister to decide about it,” said Tusk.

Time for the spokesman. Time? “During the week”

In addition, Prime Minister Donald Tusk pointed out that a new spokesman for the government will be presented during the week, whose one of the main tasks will be to build much more modern transmission channels.

“This is to be a government spokesman and not mine, so I will have one more round (meetings – PAP) with all coalition partners and everyone must feel good with a spokesperson” – explained the prime minister.

In addition, he pointed out that the spokesperson would be a serious political figure.

In addition, when asked about the possibility of cooperation with President Elekt, Karol Nawrocki, he pointed out that if there is a field for cooperation, he intends to use it.

“I have to believe that not entirely bad will will guide the opposition or President Nawrocki and somewhere a common field may be proposed. If not, as you know, we have our competences, constitution, system, so the government will rule” – Tusk told journalists.

He added that in such a situation, he will of course find ways to introduce various positive changes as without laws. He stipulated that this is not possible everywhere, but he noted that, for example, in health care with the head of the government, minister and the National Health Fund, a lot of things can be done.
