Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski rejected the characterization by US President Donald Trump on the war between Russia and Ukraine, when he compared the two countries with “two children who fight like crazy” and stating that “sometimes it is better to let them fight for a while.”
In an interview with the American television station ABC News, to be broadcast on Sunday, Zelenski was asked if Trump understands the suffering in Ukraine considering his comments in the Oval Office.
“We are not children with little at the playground in the park,” Zelenski replied. “He is a criminal who came to this park to kill the children.”
Donald Trump compared the Ukraine war with a quarrel between “children” / Friedrich Merz said the American leader is the “key person” to stop the conflict
Zelenski described the “boundless” pain of a Ukrainian father who lost his wife and three children following a Russian missile blow.
According to the Ukrainian leader, the words that man addressed to him were “different” from how officials talk about losses.
“He did not mention any statistics or figure or number of blows. He just said:” Every morning, when I wake up, I look for my family – I am looking everywhere in the apartment … I still think it was a nightmare … a bad dream “, Zelenski told him the man.
And Trump “couldn't feel and fully understand this pain,” Zelenski continued.
“And it is not about President Trump, it is about any person who is not here in the country, who are thousands of miles away – [ei] I cannot feel fully and cannot understand this pain, ”he stressed.
The Ukrainian president also mentioned that 631 Ukrainian children have died in the war and that Russia often concerns civilians in its offensive.
