Revolut inaugurated his first ATMs in Spain on Wednesday, taking an important step towards his physical presence in Europe.
The application with over 55 million customers worldwide, chose Spain as a pilot market, the first 50 ATMs being located in areas with heavy traffic in Madrid and Barcelona.
Another 150 ATMs will be installed in other important cities, such as Valencia and Malaga, with the final goal of reaching 200 ATMs in the country. Revolut users can locate the closest ATM through the integrated map in the application, with information about the operating program, addresses and access instructions.
The initiative comes to a country where the cash still dominates, the Bank of Spain reporting that over 60% of the payments are made in cash. Revolut already has a significant basis of users in Spain, with almost 5 million customers using its services
From 2026 and in other countries
Thus Spain becomes the first to receive the new physical product of Revolut, expanding on markets such as Germany, Italy and Portugal being planned starting next year
Although the relationship with the money has been radically transformed over the last decade, the ATMs have remained largely unchanged: difficult menus, non -transparent commissions, high currency exchange courses and also limited functions.
The new range of Revolut ATMs, says the company, aims to change this landscape by offering a modern, digitally designed experience.
What does the new Revolut ATMs offer
Free withdrawals for Revolut customers (within certain limits) and the possibility of depositing cash in your account.
There are no additional commissions for withdrawals to the EU or internationally for Revolut users.
Competitive foreign exchange rates when withdrawing money abroad.
Free issuance of Revolut card (one per customer).
Accessibility function: adjustable screen and support for several languages (including Greek, Japanese, Bulgarian, Portuguese, etc.).
Advanced security measures with end-to-end encryption-authentication by facial recognition will be added in the future.
Revolut customers can make withdrawals without commissions even if they are abroad and can withdraw money in a currency other than their balance-for example, a user with a card in £ that withdraw money in euros in Spain will benefit from the same exchange rates
Even customers who do not have an account at Revolut can use ATMs, says the company. Initially, the exchange rate of its own bank will be applied, but the dynamic conversion of the currencies (DCC) will be activated, allowing them to choose the Revolut exchange rate on the place.
I can also open a direct account directly to the ATM in a few minutes and receive a physical card on the spot.
