Politicized opinions
CBOS analysis shows that the assessments of the activities of the State Forests vary depending on social groups. Young people, farmers, workers and people with basic vocational education are more commonly talking about this institution. In turn, residents of the largest cities, people with higher education and company owners are more critical of its activities.
The study also indicates a significant impact of political identification on opinions about the State Forests. People with right -wing views evaluate them much better than respondents identifying with other political options. The most positive assessments were expressed by supporters of Law and Justice, while supporters of the Civic Coalition were more critical.
Over 9.2 million ha
The State Forest Forest Farm is an organizational unit operating throughout Poland, which does not have legal personality and is not an enterprise. This institution runs forest management, manages land and real estate related to forests, and the supervision over its activities is exercised by the minister competent for the environment.
Polish forests occupy an area of over 9.2 million ha, of which the State Forests manage over 7.3 million ha. They are the largest organization in the European Union managing forests belonging to the Treasury. They manage on a quarter of the country and employ about 26 thousand. people.
CBOS “Current problems and events” study was conducted from 11 to 22 September 2023 on a group of 969 people. The surveys were carried out by various methods: 65.4 percent Interviews took place directly (CAPI), 22.1 percent by phone (Cati), and 12.5 percent Online (CAWI).
