“We received information about this text from our institution (diplomatic in Israel). We do not argue (with the text), but when this statement appeared, which may be evoked by bad associations in the context of the Holocaust, we sent a letter to the editorial office indicating that using it is unfair, imprecise and related scientific discussions that are in Poland,” said Wroński. “

Wroński noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is not on any side of these scientific discussions that “concern Poles during the Holocaust and the position of Mr. Karol Nawrocki.” “We only say that President Elek should not be defined in this way” – emphasized the spokesman for the ministry of diplomacy.

“Our facility directed a letter. We ask in it not to use this type of terms, we protest against it and ask to print this letter. We assume the right of editorial for evaluation, but this assessment using this term raises – especially in Poland – very dangerous associations” – said Wroński. He noted that “nationalism, to which many people admit in Poland, is something different than this term.”

RMF FM was the first to inform about the letter to the Times of Israel editorial office.

The Times of Israel portal wrote on Monday in an article entitled “Conservative Holocaust Revisionist Karol Nawrocki Wins Polish Presidential Election” that the second round of presidential elections in Poland was won by Nawrocki, who “made revisionism of the Holocaust part of his campaign.”

The portal added that Nawrocki recently managed the Institute of National Remembrance, which “strengthened the nationalist vision of history, glorifying Polish victims and resistance to the Nazis during World War II, while discrediting research on Polish anti -Semitism and Poles who killed Jews.” (PAP)
