Rapid is looking for a coach to bring the fourth title in the history of Giulesti, and one of Dan Șucu's variants is Costel Gâlcă (53 years old), the former coach of FCSB and Craiova University, writes Golazo.ro.
Costel Gâlcă would be the first variant of coach for Rapid. The two sides are trying to reach an agreement and clap the palm.
The 53-year-old technician is an important name for Romanian football, even though his last mandate in Superliga was not over as he wished, after being dismissed from Craiova University, in winter.
Constantin Gâlcă spent 35 matches on the Technical Bank of the University of Craiova team. He recorded 17 victories, 10 draws and 8 defeats (goal 60-41).
In 2015, the former midfielder won all three FSCB trophies: the championship, the Romanian Cup and the League Cup.
If he fails to convince Gâlcă, Dan Șucu will focus on an Italian coach.
The name that the majority shareholder wants is Rolando Maran, who is currently training Brescia, a band that has evolved in Serie B and has been relegated after a financial scandal.
