The latest round of discussions, the fifth, took place on Friday in Rome with Oman's mediation. The discussions between the Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, and the US Emissary for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, lasted about three hours at the residence of the Omanese ambassador, according to the Iranian press.
“The discussions continue to be constructive”, and “Both sides agreed to meet again in the near future“, an important American official said after the meeting, under the condition of anonymity.
