“We hope to meet a considerable success and progress in the accession negotiations of the Republic of Moldova in the nearest future. Lithuanian prime minister also said that “Today, together with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, we discussed new fields of practical cooperation, including the energy sector, strategic communication, cyber resilience, but also support for civil society. Lithuania is prepared to contribute, offering our experience in counteracting hybrid threats, but to offer material support. Projects over 30 million euros
At the same time, Dorin Recean stressed that Vilnius is an active partner of Chisinau, contributing “through concrete projects in agriculture, green energy, security and institutional development. With Lithuanian support, solar panels were installed in public institutions in Ocnița, Cantemir, Comrat, Ceadîr-Lunga, Baurci, Avdarma, Svetlîi, Etulia. Key institutions such as the National Bank of Moldova and the Competition Council benefit from assistance for alignment with the standards of the European Union. The total value of the projects exceeds 30 million euros ”.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean recalled that the Republic of Moldova was the first state to recognize the regaining of Lithuania's independence, in May 1990, by a decision adopted by the first democratic parliament. As a sign of appreciation, he handed over to his Lithuanian counterpart a copy of that document.
