On Sunday in Poland, the first round of presidential elections will be held. The main candidates are Vafal Trzaskowski, representative of the ruling party the civic platform, historian Karol Nawrocki, representative of the Law and Justice Party (PIS) and director of the National Memory Institute in Poland, and the representative of the extreme right, Slawomir Mentzen, writes Agerpres.

“The National Center for misinformation analysis (NASK) has identified political advertising messages on the Facebook platform that could be financed from abroad. The materials were displayed in Poland,” He mentioned Nask, which deals with cyber security at national level in Poland.

“The advertising accounts involved in the campaign have spent on the political materials in the last 7 days more than any electoral committee”added Nask.

The institution did not specify from which country the financing could come from.

Previously, Poland said that its role as a center for Ukraine helps make it a primary target for spying, sabotage and Russian cyber attacks.

Russia, which in February 2022 began an illegal, unprovised and unjustified aggression against Ukraine, has so far rejected the accusation of involvement in foreign elections.
