Laurențiu Reghecampf Discusses Florinel Coman’s Potential Return to FCSB

Laurențiu Reghecampf, the coach of FCSB, recently spoke about the chance that Florinel Coman might return to the team during the upcoming winter transfer window. The coach mentioned that the former player would be welcomed back, though he refrained from providing specifics about any potential transfer.

This topic arose during a press conference preceding FCSB’s away match against FC Voluntari, part of the 12th round of the Superliga.

Currently, Coman plays for Al-Gharafa in Qatar, where he has faced challenges in securing a starting position. Recent discussions have suggested a possible return to FCSB during the winter break as he has struggled to make an impact at his current club.

Al-Gharafa is also experiencing a tough time, having lost 1-2 to Esteghlal FC in the AFC Champions League, a result that has drawn criticism from local media.

Florinel Coman’s performance this season has been underwhelming, often appearing as a substitute.

In light of this, Reghecampf was asked whether the former FCSB player could be a solution for the team in January. The coach did not dismiss this possibility and recalled Coman’s previous successes at the club. However, he emphasized that his focus remains on the upcoming matches and the players currently in his squad.

“You can imagine that I am focused on discussing the players we currently have. The other names circulating in the press are all very important players. Florinel Coman has won trophies here, and he is always welcome back. But I would prefer to talk more about what we need to accomplish tomorrow and next week. We can address other matters after December; we still have to wait,” Reghecampf stated.

Florinel Coman Faces Tough Times in Qatar! Previously Loaned to Cagliari

Coman left FCSB for Al-Gharafa in the summer of 2024, with the Qatari club paying six million euros for his transfer. However, the move did not yield the expected results. The Romanian player struggled with adaptation, and in February 2025, he was loaned to Cagliari in Serie A for a few months. Following his return from Italy, Coman was unable to reclaim his status as a key player at Al-Gharafa.

Overall, Coman has played 51 matches for the Qatari team, scoring six goals and providing 11 assists. In the current season, he has made six appearances without scoring but has recorded two assists.

According to Transfermarkt, Florinel Coman’s market value is currently three million euros.
