Adrian Mihalcea, the coach from Ato Arad, reacted after his team achieved a dramatic victory over those from The oil Ploiesti, score 1-0, in stage #19 of the Superliga, through a goal scored by Alin Roman in the 90th+6th minute.
With this victory, UTA Arad moved up to the play-off spot, but Adrian Mihalcea said that this is not the team's goal.
Adrian Mihalcea reacted after UTA – Petrolul 1-0: “The play-off is not an imposed objective. It is up to us if we will score enough points to be there”
“A well-deserved win. We had a tough game. We were in control for the most part. They had counter-attacks where they could have been more dangerous. To win in the last second is the icing on the cake. I'm happy about that. We're continuing to work until the end of this year. That's become more and more important.
Many players also played in the Romanian Cup and made a great effort. We should have moved to the sides and attack, but we didn't have many solutions there. We made a compromise and didn't include Roman from the beginning. I changed the strategy a bit. Moments and moments, but also in the second half, the dangerous phases were on our side.
I don't look at the ranking. I see that I have 28 points. We are there, but it is in between. Points matter, place less so now. Place matters in the end.
The play-off is not an imposed objective. It's up to us if we score enough points to be there. It is not our objective to enter the play-offs.
In the last two matches we have an exam. We will see if we can fight with real chances for the first places or if we can maintain a position in the middle of the ranking that will give us peace”, Adrian Mihalcea transmitted in the flash-interview from the Digi Sport Special show.
VIDEO. The superb goal scored by Alin Roman in UTA – Petrolul 1-0: “I'm glad I was decisive”
Alin Roman, the scorer of the only goal of the game, spoke about his success.
I'm glad I was decisive. I'm an execution player. Sometimes it works out for me, like today. It was important to everyone. I'm glad A beautiful execution.
We were happy at the end, a picture and that's it. I haven't gotten anything so far. I'm not thinking about the play-offs. I try to take it match by match, to accumulate as many points as possible and see where we stand. I don't think the play-off is the objective, but we're trying to take a chance. There will be a lot of teams to beat in 5th and 6th places. Farul are a good team that play nice, open football. We are trying to go and win and get three points.
We make a good group. That makes the difference, except for the 2 games where we lost 4-0 and 4-0. It was not a pleasant atmosphere. I didn't really feel like coming to the stadium, but we went everywhere. I feel good in Arad, I have my whole family here. I'm at home.
