FCSB is preparing for potential departures of three players as their contracts come to an end this winter.
Mihai Stoica, Chairman of the Club’s Administration at FCSB, announced that right-back Valentin Crețu (37), left-back Risto Radunovic (34), and forward Arnold Garita (31) will see their contracts expire at the end of December. However, Gigi Becali, the club’s owner, has yet to make a decision on their futures.
Three Players Set to Leave FCSB: “Gigi Decides the Fate of Crețu, Garita, and Radunovic”
“Crețu and Garita are at the end of their contracts. Even if he wanted to, Gigi cannot release them since their contracts expire in winter. Is there a blacklist of players whose contracts end? I don’t think that’s accurate. Both can have their contracts extended if Gigi wishes, and if they agree as well. But there isn’t a blacklist. The three players whose contracts end are Garita, Crețu, and Risto Radunovic,” Stoica explained.
Before the match against Craiova, Garita was in good standing with the team, and Stoica emphasized he doesn’t make the final decisions regarding players. “Right now, I don’t know what Gigi thinks about Crețu, Garita, or Risto. I appreciate Garita; he is a player who gives his all. I prefer a player who gives everything he has over one who has more talent but doesn’t put in the effort,” Stoica added, referencing his thoughts on the players.
Valentin Crețu has participated in 8 matches this season after joining FCSB in August 2018. He was recently involved in a training incident that led to him being excluded from the squad temporarily, although he remains with the team. FCSB also has young talents Luca Stancu (21) and Ronny Labonne (29) available for the right-back position.
Risto Radunovic has been with FCSB since January 2021 and has made 7 appearances this season. For the left-back position, the team can count on Ricardo Pădurariu (19).
Arnold Garita joined FCSB in August on loan from Shenzhen and has played 6 matches for the club. His contract with the Chinese team also expires in December.
