Enel-Med has announced a cybersecurity incident that has resulted in a breach of the company’s data confidentiality. The network, which serves approximately 700,000 patients, has already reported the issue to the relevant authorities.
This incident follows a recent data leak from MyDr, a medical software provider that compromised the information of around 19 million Poles due to a cyberattack. Now, Enel-Med is addressing its own cybersecurity breach.
Enel-Med’s Response to the Situation
Company representatives have stated that immediate actions have been taken to mitigate the negative effects of this incident. They have informed the Central Bureau of Combating Cybercrime and the Cyber Security Incident Response Team (CESIRT) managed by the e-Health Center. The incident has also been reported to CERT Polska and the President of the Personal Data Protection Office.
According to Enel-Med, the incident has not significantly impacted the operational functioning of the company. They have initiated protective measures for their network, systems, and customer data.
Following this announcement, Enel-Med’s website indicated that “Maintenance work is ongoing, and we apologize for any inconvenience.”
