Iran has not yet commented on these reports.
The Iranian authorities argue that the national nuclear program serves only peaceful purposes. The head of Maea Rafael Grossi had already warned, however, that Tehran had accumulated quite highly enriched uranium to produce several atomic bombs.
According to American intelligence agencies, on which Reuters established, Iran has not yet started the nuclear weapon program, but “made preparations to produce a nuclear bomb, if such a decision is made (authorities – PAP)”.
Reports were issued at a time when an impasse in the Iranian-American negotiations on the Iran atomic program started on April 12. Five negotiations have been held so far.
