Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned that without ordering and paying for drones in October and November, significant problems will arise in January and February. He stated that approximately $27 billion is currently lacking in the defense budget, with about a third of that amount required specifically for drones intended for use in January, February, and March. The remaining funds are necessary for missiles, military supplies, and partially for soldiers’ salaries. Zelensky has discussed the funding needs with the European Commission.
