The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NAKU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) conducted a briefing to address allegations from the Prosecutor General’s Office. The briefing highlighted that the entire situation involving call centers could be linked to a Russian sabotage effort. NAKU Director Artem Kryvonos stated that he personally had not seen the accusation document, nor had it been presented to him. Similarly, SAP head Oleksandr Klymenko and his family have not received any accusations.
Kryvonos chose not to comment on the charges made against him, describing them as “fabricated nonsense.” He also refrained from answering questions regarding his alleged acquaintance with the mother of a boy he supposedly adopted to evade criminal liability. Furthermore, reports indicating that the next phase of the investigation would be titled “Emperor” were dismissed as false. Both NAKU and SAP emphasized their commitment to keeping their operations free from political influence, viewing recent actions as attempts to politicize the “Carthage” case.
