Since opening in June, a new five-star hotel in Pobierowo has surpassed business expectations, attracting a significant influx of tourists. The hotel, which boasts thirteen floors and can accommodate up to 3,000 guests, reported over 88,162 overnight stays from July 1 to August 31. During this two-month period, more than 30,000 rooms were booked, leading to the serving of an impressive 210,000 meals.
The majority of international visitors were from Germany, numbering around 1,300, but tourists also traveled from Sweden, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, and Austria. This surge in visitors is particularly noteworthy for the tourism industry on the nearby island of Usedom, located approximately 50 kilometers away, and for resorts in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
The hotel’s development faced years of controversy, with local protests, ecological concerns, and administrative challenges causing multiple delays. Originally slated to open in 2021, it is now the largest project by the Gołębiewski group, which also operates large recreational and conference hotels in Karpacz, Mikołajki, Wisła, and Białystok.
Adopting an all-inclusive model, the hotel aims to provide guests with everything they need on-site. This includes restaurants, a spa area, event spaces, and the Tropikana water park, ensuring a complete vacation experience. During the summer alone, over 1,200 wellness treatments were booked.
However, staying at this coastal giant comes at a price. Couples typically pay between 1,400 and 1,700 PLN (approximately 330 to 400 euros) per night. Despite the costs, interest remains high, with 530 rooms currently available and plans to expand to 1,240 rooms, more than doubling its capacity.
This rapid development has sparked concern among some competitors along the Baltic coast. Nevertheless, hotel management remains optimistic. According to sales director Marta Masłowska, the goal is to establish a venue that bolsters the city’s brand while also stimulating local tourism growth.
