Inter President Confirms Lautaro Martinez Will Not Leave for Barcelona

Giuseppe Marotta, the president of Inter Milan, addressed the situation regarding Lautaro Martinez, the Argentine forward who has attracted interest from Barcelona, particularly if the Catalan club fails to secure Julian Alvarez.

Marotta made these comments ahead of Cristi Chivu’s team’s debut in the new Serie A season, making it clear that there is no consideration for Martinez’s departure in this transfer window.

Giuseppe Marotta: “No Chance of Lautaro Leaving Inter”

“We built this team several years ago with the goal of maintaining long-term competitiveness, and we never considered major changes, always giving our all. This year, however, we had to consider the factor of age, and we regretfully parted with certain players while bringing in professionals who have collectively won about 30 trophies. They need to bring new motivations, both technically and in terms of the fundamental requirements of modern football.

First and foremost, Lautaro Martinez is our captain and represents the recent history of the club. I can say unequivocally that there is absolutely no possibility of him leaving Inter; we do not want to part with him under any circumstances. To be concise: this should not even be a topic of discussion.

We are attentive to new opportunities regarding forwards, in constant dialogue with the coach and thanks to the owners who have guaranteed investments. If necessary, we will take action, but only for high-profile players. However, I can assert with certainty that the current level of the team is already quite high,” Marotta stated, according to reports from tuttomercatoweb.com.

Lautaro Martinez has been with Inter since 2018. During his time at the club, he has made 377 appearances, scored 175 goals, and provided 56 assists. His market value is estimated at 85 million euros.
