Jared Kushner Meets Hamas Leaders in Egypt Amid Peace Talks

Jared Kushner, the American envoy and son-in-law of President Donald Trump, met with leaders of the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas on Sunday in Egypt, as reported by sources from the France Presse news agency.
This information was confirmed by a diplomat to Reuters, who noted that Kushner and Nikolai Mladenov, the representative for the peace initiative championed by Trump, engaged in multiple discussions in Cairo with Egyptian, Qatari, and Turkish mediators, with some meetings also involving Hamas officials.
During the encounter, Hamas reiterated its commitment to the US-brokered peace plan for Gaza, which has been rejected by Israel. Kushner emphasized the need for the complete disarmament of Hamas and the total exclusion of the Iran-backed group from any future Palestinian governance.
A senior Israeli official stated that Kushner and Mladenov are scheduled to meet on Monday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who recently deemed the Trump administration’s roadmap as “unacceptable.”
