Tavi Popescu Acknowledges Mistakes Despite Strong Performance in FCSB Win

In the recent match where FCSB triumphed over FC Argeș 2-0, Octavian Popescu, playing as a left winger, emerged as the standout player. Although his overall performance was commendable, he openly acknowledged moments where he fell short.
Popescu was instrumental in the match, providing the assist for Bîrligea’s opening goal and earning the penalty from which Tănase extended the lead. Despite his contributions, Popescu reflected critically on his play.
Popescu Expresses Self-Critique: “We Must Improve Our Ball Control”
“It was a tough game against a team that competed in last season’s playoffs. Overall, I don’t think I had a very good match. I lost a few balls in the midfield, and that’s not acceptable,” Popescu stated.
He added, “I hope to meet expectations and achieve more on the field. Actions speak louder than words; the number on my jersey means nothing if I don’t perform on the pitch.” He remained optimistic about the team’s prospects, saying, “We have a very good team and staff, and I believe we can win the championship again. We may be few, but we are strong. Injured players will return soon as well.”
Gigi Becali, reflecting on the match, humorously remarked, “What can we do? We also took three points. We won with four 19-year-olds on the field. We are small too (laughs). I’m pleased that we had improvisation in midfield; none of our three central midfielders were fit today.”
