Szczecin’s Historic Starka Vodka Factory Price Slashed Ahead of Auction

No offers have been received for the iconic Starka Vodka Factory in Szczecin, despite previous interest from several companies. According to reports from “Gazeta Wyborcza,” the initial asking price for the factory has been significantly reduced. A new auction is set to take place.

Starka Factory in Szczecin Still Available for Purchase

The first auction’s bid opening meeting took place in June, but no offers were submitted. “There was nothing to open, as unfortunately no bids were received during this auction,” trustee Maciej Kasprzyk told Dla Handlu.

The selling price of the entire enterprise was initially set at no less than 106,328,432.37 PLN. However, the new price has been fixed at a minimum of 90 million PLN, reflecting a reduction of several million PLN from the original amount. Interested buyers must submit their bids by September 22, 2026, with the meeting scheduled for September 25 at 10 AM at the Szczecin-Centrum District Court.

The Szczecin Starka Vodka Factory has been in bankruptcy for several years, and by the end of 2023, it had liabilities of 66 million PLN. The sale includes over two hectares of property in Szczecin, a production and storage complex complete with aging cellars, rights to the Starka brand, recipes, intellectual property rights, and inventory consisting of thousands of barrels of aging vodka.

However, tangible assets are just part of the equation; intangible assets also play a crucial role. Experts believe the investment’s value could significantly exceed its official valuation, stemming from not only its tangible assets but primarily from intangible capital. For example, the revenue potential of Starka’s inventory is estimated at 456.8 million PLN, which is more than four times the entire company’s valuation.
