Kleberson Hospitalized with Serious Heart Issues After Chest Pains

Kleberson, a 47-year-old former Brazil midfielder and World Cup winner in 2002, was hospitalized after experiencing severe chest pains. Medical examinations revealed that he has three coronary arteries that are 50% blocked.
The central midfielder, who earned 32 caps and scored 2 goals for the Selecao between 2002 and 2010, retired in 2017 from Fort Lauderdale. He was instrumental in Brazil’s victory at the World Cup held in Japan and South Korea.
Kleberson played in Europe mainly with Manchester United and Beşiktaş, the latter stint ending in controversy and a four-month suspension due to contractual issues.
Fortunately, doctors have ruled out the immediate risk of a heart attack. “He feels fine! Now is the time to double our efforts and change our lifestyle. I promise to take care of our champion’s heart,” stated his wife, Dayane, on social media.
Kleberson Gained Fame Alongside Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United
Later, Kleberson reassured his followers on Instagram: “I am here to calm everyone. Yesterday I had severe chest pains, which worried me and my family. I went to the hospital for necessary checks, particularly cardiac examinations.
Unfortunately, there is an abnormality, and I will need to undergo further tests, but thank God we hope it’s nothing too serious. Soon we will be ready to live life with good health and peace.”
Brazilian media report that doctors have advised him to change his lifestyle and take medication. He is scheduled for another medical evaluation next week.
Kleberson notably gained recognition when he was introduced alongside Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United in the summer of 2003, with the Red Devils paying €8.6 million to Atletico Paranaense for his transfer.
