The Chinese car giant Chery officially penetrates the Romanian market, at a time when the Asian builders accelerate the extension in Central and Eastern Europe. The movement is part of a larger expansion plan on the European continent, and Romania becomes one of the strategic targets of the company.
The launch will take place in the second half of 2025, through a partnership signed with the Auto Italy group, part of the Samelet group, an important player in the car distribution.
In the first phase, Romanians will have access to the Tiggo range SUVs, a series already well-known in international markets for equipment-price ratio and modern design.

Romania will be one of the first countries in the region where the company will launch the Tiggo range, and then expand its offer with the Umoda and Jaecoo sub-brands.
According to industry sources, Chery also analyzes the opening of a production facility in Europe, following the model already tested in Spain, where she has taken a factory to reduce her imports and to avoid possible customs duties.
How much could Costa Chery Tiggo
Although the official prices for the Romanian market have not yet been announced, in comparable European markets, such as Germany and Spain, the prices for Cery Tiggo 4 vary between 15,600 and 21,722 eurosdepending on the equipment and engine., just as the Dacia models in the same segment.
In Romania, it is estimated that the starting price for Chery Tiggo 4 will be around 18,000 eurospositioning it as a competitive SUV in its segment.
