Tudor Chirilă denounces the “sedation” of Nicușor Dan: “You have completed a mineriad, Iliescu would smile”. Dan Teodorescu: “I'm tired”

Tudor Chirilă vehemently criticized the decision of President Nicușor Dan to appoint Adrian Veștea – a liberal from Hubert Thuma's camp – for the position of prime minister. The artist Dan Teodorescu had a similar reaction, who told the head of state that “The International Mathematical Olympiad does not guarantee character.”

“Nicușor Dan, you will be applauded. Yes, not by those who voted for you, but by all those who believe that Romania is a good cow to milk. You will be applauded by combiners, tricksters, security guards and interest groups. You will be applauded by Lia, by PSD, by Predoiu and the Penelist barons, by all those who long for the age of uselist glory or maybe even the golden age Hrebenciuc was born when it was absolutely safe to steal and Romania did not have to account to anyone for the fact that it was sovereign when stealing”. Tudor Chirilă sent, in a post on Facebook.

The artist connects this decision with recent developments in the judicial system, suggesting that they are part of the same kind of political action.

“Today you completed the mining started a few days ago by Lia and her CSM. Your actions would make Ion Iliescu smile like Kermit again“, wrote Chirilă.

“All this happened very quickly: your peddling, the betrayal of the voters, the betrayal of the honest magistrates…”

In the same post, Tudor Chirilă accuses the president of a rapid change of direction and warns of the political and social consequences:

A good thing is that all this happened very quickly: your pesedification, the betrayal of the voters, the betrayal of honest magistrates, the silence in the face of attacks on the press or on civil society, the behind-the-scenes games unrelated to the honesty so claimed in the campaign, the lack of communication of the presidential intentions, and today the violation of the Constitutionand”.

“The worst, most ironic, and Homerically laughable part is that you claim that all the mischief you have undertaken, you have done in the name of «national interest» and so that Romania does not fall into the hands of the extremists, but there is no bigger wedge in the extremist direction than the one you are now giving to democracy and common sense. I didn't think you would go so far in preserving pesedism as to favor extremism. Extremism which, by the way, derives from pesedism. That this gave birth to corruption in Romania. Extremism. And that is what you are encouraging now“, the post also states.

The artist ends the message with a direct criticism of the head of state: “May God forgive you. With us it will be much more difficult”.

Tudor Chirilă's reaction comes in a context of increasingly heightened political tensions, after the appointment of the new prime minister and the wave of criticism generated by this decision, and it is not the only one from the artistic environment.

Dan Teodorescu: “I have the strength to make this effort, Mr. Nicusor Dan”

The musician Dan Teodorescu also had a harsh reaction to the address of the president Nicușor Dan.

“What I learned today: 1. That, just as a flower does not guarantee spring, the International Mathematical Olympiad does not guarantee character. 2. That even a simple action requires effort. Swearing, for example, involves activating the brain to generate an idea, activating the lungs to ensure proper airflow, activating the larynx, pharynx, and oral cavity to produce articulate sounds.” wrote Dan Teodorescu on Facebook.

The artist added:

“And I have the strength to make this effort, Mr. Nicusor Dan.”
