“The village of Cernesti in Izvoarele is now isolated from the rest of the community. 158 souls have no way to get home. There are quite risky, quite problematic alternative solutions” announced the public administrator of the county, Emil Drăgănescu, on his Facebook page.
Mayor Ioan Paul Grigore declared, on Saturday, for AGERPRES, that the access to the 158 locals is achieved on the crown of a pier and on a pedestrian bridge.
“Now we walk on a crown of a dam of a reservoir. (…) It is very narrow, a ravine on one side, a ravine and water on the other side. Besides, we are not allowed to use it like that because it is the property of Hidroelectrica. (…) Pedestrians use a cable bridge, and the children are picked up by the minibus from that bridge.” said the mayor.
According to him, the ambulance or the fire truck have no place to pass on this crown of the dam. On the other hand, cars could, but very difficult.
The bridge was flooded on Friday, June 12, and the current solution is a compromise, says the mayor.
For the construction of a new bridge, the local administration would need about 2.5 million lei, and the mayor hopes to obtain this amount from the Government's Reserve Fund.
The National Meteorological Administration issued, on Friday, a Code Yellow warning of showers, electrical discharges and isolated thunderstorms, valid until 21:00 in Dobrogea and in most of Muntenia.
There were periods of atmospheric instability that manifested itself through quantitatively significant showers, electrical discharges, intensification of the wind (gust speeds of 50…60 km/h) and isolated gales and hail of small and medium sizes. The amounts of water were 20…30 l/sq m and isolated over 40 l/sq m.
