Donald Trump boasts of ending the war with Iran. The agreement was also not confirmed by Tehran

US President Donald Trump stated that the US has “ended the war with Iran”, after announcing on Thursday morning an “extraordinary agreement” which, according to him, would resolve the conflict and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

President Donald Trump said the United States had “ended the war” with Iran, after earlier claiming the two sides had agreed on a “very strong memorandum of understanding” to end the fighting.

“I don't know if you have heard, but today we ended the war with Iran“, said President Donald Trump, in a telerally in support of Georgia's deputy governor, Burt Jones, who is running for governor.

“They agreed never to have nuclear weapons, which I insisted on; that was the main goal. That was 95% of the agreement“, he claimed.

Trump's statement came after earlier calling off further strikes on Iran, suggesting on Truth Social that a deal had been reached, without elaborating on its terms.

Iran has not confirmed that any deal has been reached, and Trump said in a social media post that the US blockade of ships leaving or entering Iranian ports would continue until “this deal is completed.”
