In Russia, the cost of treatment for tuberculosis and HIV was estimated at 511 billion rubles

In Russia, the total damage and costs associated with socially significant infectious diseases in 2025 amounted to 511.3 billion rubles. TASS reports this with reference to data from Rospotrebnadzor.
We are talking about tuberculosis, HIV infection, as well as chronic viral hepatitis B and C. According to the department, direct medical budget costs to combat these infections in 2025 were estimated at 262 billion rubles. Tuberculosis accounted for 134.5 billion rubles.
The assessment took into account expenditures from the federal and regional budgets. They included mass surveys of the population, preventive and anti-epidemic measures, as well as the provision of medical care to patients with tuberculosis, HIV infection and viral hepatitis B and C.
The calculation included all patients living with these infectious diseases in 2025.
