15,000 students and teachers of Russian universities use solutions from T1 IT holding

T1 IT holding continues to develop partnerships with universities to reduce the gap between academic knowledge and the real requirements of the IT industry for graduates.
Now students and teachers have access to applied IT tools that the holding team uses when implementing IT projects. By mid-2026, the total number of users of T1 IT solutions in the university environment will exceed 15,000.
39% of students believe that educational programs at universities do not meet market requirements, the same number note their irrelevance, and a third speak about a lack of practice and real experience. This is also confirmed by employers: according to research, almost half of them (48%) rate the level of graduates’ training as a “C”, while only 1% are completely satisfied with the quality of knowledge.
To strengthen the practical training of young specialists, the T1 IT holding introduces IT tools used in business into universities. Today, the company's solutions are used in 30 educational institutions: Moscow Aviation Institute, KNITU, St. Petersburg State University of Technology named after. Bonch-Bruevich, KubSU, Samara University, RSRTU, Izhevsk State Technical University, MISIS, Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, MSTU named after. N. E. Bauman, NSU, UNN, UrFU and others.
These are the Sfera software development platform, the Cybox platform for creating AI models, the Taumerix CAE solution* for interdisciplinary engineering analysis of electronics and photonics, and the DION corporate communications platform. Experts from the T1 IT holding train teachers to work with digital tools and show how to use them in the educational process.
“Today, the key task of business, universities and the state is to ensure the synergy of academic theory and real practice in IT education. We see that this approach allows students to quickly learn professional skills and better understand how the industry works. The use of our solutions in the educational process is a contribution to the training of specialists at the middle level and above already at the training stage,” noted Ekaterina Kolesnikova, Deputy General Director of the T1 IT holding for personnel.
Students of technical and IT specialties use the solutions of the T1 IT holding when completing coursework and final qualifying work, in practical classes, project intensives and hackathons. Students use the Sphere platform, which helps manage the full software development cycle, the Sphere.Tasks task tracker for organizing team work, Sphere.Code for reviewing and storing code, and Sphere.Knowledge as a knowledge base. This makes training as close as possible to real IT processes – from setting a task to releasing a finished product.
The Cybox platform is used as a single environment for going through the full cycle of AI development: from idea to deployment of an industrial application. Another product of the IT holding T1 “Taumerix” is designed to solve complex engineering problems in the field of electronics and photonics. And the communication system within universities – from online lectures to internal communication between teams – is provided by the DION platform.
“The integration of modern digital tools of the T1 IT holding into the educational process is becoming one of the determining factors in the successful career development of beginning specialists. They allow students to develop applied and in-demand skills from the very first day of study and immediately focus them on real business tasks,” said Maria Bulakina, head of the IT Center department of MAI.
“The use of real IT solutions at a university helps to increase students’ involvement in project activities, as well as to develop their teamwork and project management skills. As a result, graduates make a smooth transition to real professional activity and demonstrate higher adaptability when finding employment in an IT company,” commented KNRTU Rector Yuri Mikhailovich Kazakov.
*CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) is a class of software designed for engineering calculations, analysis and simulation of physical processes in a virtual environment.
