A 53-year-old local resident will appear in court in Yeniseisk. He is accused of murdering his ex-wife and attempted murder of her companion. The prosecutor's office of the Krasnoyarsk region reported this.
The murder occurred in March 2026 in the village of Ozyornoe. According to investigators, the man could not come to terms with the fact that his ex-wife started a new relationship after breaking up. The former spouses lived together for almost 30 years and raised three children. According to the woman’s relatives, in recent years the man abused alcohol, used violence and made threats against her.
After breaking up, the woman met another man and moved in with him. Having learned about this, the ex-husband began to call and write to her almost every day, came to her place of work and demanded to return. Witnesses also spoke of death threats.
On the evening in March, the defendant drank alcohol, then took a hunting rifle and came to the house where his ex-wife lived. According to investigators, when he entered, he opened fire. The woman died on the spot. Her companion was seriously injured, but survived thanks to doctors. The man underwent several operations and his arm was amputated.
The prosecutor approved charges of murder and attempted murder of two persons. The criminal case will be considered by the Yenisei District Court.
