A resident of the Moscow region shot himself in the head and survived: the bullet got stuck in the temporal fossa, without hitting vital organs
A 70-year-old Russian from the Moscow region decided that he was going to die on his own terms. However, the suicide attempt was unsuccessful – either the homemade small-caliber firearm failed him, or fate decided that it was too early for him.
The bullet grazed the cheekbone and ricocheted into the temporal fossa. Having pierced the muscles, she stopped in front of the skull bones.
Grandfather was urgently taken to the maxillofacial surgery of the Pushkin Clinical Hospital, and as a result of an emergency operation the bullet was removed. A few days later, the failed suicide was discharged home.
An x-ray was left as a souvenir.
