Every second Russian would support a four-day working week

8 June 16:50

Every second economically active Russian would support the introduction of a four-day working week. This was reported by the SuperJob research center.

53% of respondents were in favor of switching to a four-day week. 24% were against, another 23% found it difficult to answer. Most often, the idea is supported by young people under 35 years of age. Among them, 64% of respondents were in favor of a shortened working week. Among Russians over 45 years of age, there are fewer supporters, 39%.

If an additional day off were available, Russians would most often spend it on family or vacation. Survey participants also mentioned self-education, household chores, part-time work, hobbies and active recreation.

At the same time, employers are still hardly discussing the transition to a four-day week. 88% of companies reported that this issue had not been considered. Only 2% of organizations called the idea acceptable, and 4% opposed it. There were less than 1% of companies where a shortened schedule had already actually been introduced. Another 1% of organizations tried this format, but then returned to the usual mode.

Let us recall that the head of the Ministry of Labor did not see the point in enshrining a four-day working week in the law.
