The fastest way to reach a ceasefire agreement with the aggressor country Russia is to freeze the front lines. The President of Ukraine stated this in an interview with Sky News, published on June 7.
The presenter asked the head of the Ukrainian state whether he would agree to a ceasefire with the front line fixed where it is now.
“Yes. This is the fastest way,” Zelensky replied. When asked if this meant giving Russia what it wanted, he replied that it did not. According to him, we are not talking about simply “giving” Russia the occupied territories. Such a step should give Ukraine time and the opportunity to save lives, bring back military personnel and transfer the war to the diplomatic plane.
The president also emphasized that Ukraine is striving to stop the war in such a way that it does not resume.
