Germany's national soccer team will most likely have to make do at the World Cup starting next week without 18-year-old attacking midfielder Lennart Karl, a registered player at Bayern Munich. The reason is an injury sustained in training on Friday and he was taken to the hospital.
Karl is considered one of the best young players of the moment, excelling at Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
“Unfortunately, Lenni was injured in training today. We have to wait for the results of the investigations, but frankly, it doesn't look good. He was taken to the hospital,” coach Julian Nagelsmann said before the friendly against the United States, as quoted by sport.aktuality.sk.

“We need more information and we will see what we do. Then we will announce if we can continue with him in the tournament or if we will have to call a replacement”added the Germany coach.
The Germans can call up a substitute in case of serious injury or illness up to 24 hours before the kick-off of the first match of the final tournament. It is scheduled for June 14 against the team from Curacao.
