According to the iMonitoring website, in mid-January, a dozen cost an average of 94 rubles, and on February 24 – already 107.5 rubles.

As a representative of one of the large retail chains told sibnovosti.ru, eggs are classified as “exchange” goods – their purchase price changes every week based on the results of trading.

The main reason for the growth is the increase in production costs. Feed prices have increased (soybean, sunflower and rapeseed meal), as well as electricity, fuels and lubricants, packaging and vaccines. Weekly price fluctuations make it difficult for stores to forecast prices and for consumers to budget.
