A family festival was held in Krasnoyarsk

5 June 17:50

The III Festival “Family Values: Time for the Important” was held in Krasnoyarsk, the mayor’s office reported. In the Year of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia, the event brought together children and adults, inviting them to plunge into the world of games and traditions of different nations, as well as spend time together.

At the Prestige Center for Continuing Education, guests were able to receive expert advice and take part in exciting master classes. In the fresh air there were active playgrounds dedicated to getting to know the cultures of the peoples of Russia. For three hours, an atmosphere of energy and inspiration reigned at 46 locations.

The guests were most captivated by the Kyrgyz children's game “Berkut”. It imitates the rapid hunt of a bird of prey, training agility and reaction. For the youngest, we have prepared a pastime of the northern peoples – “Reindeer Herder” – throwing rings on deer antlers. The guys also tried their hand at the original Russian “Gorodki” – a game with a two-hundred-year history.

There was an atmosphere of adventure at the “Daddy’s Campaigns” site. Adults and children mastered camping equipment. The children enthusiastically overcame rope crossings and also learned to navigate using a map and compass. Krasnoyarsk resident Mikhail came to the festival with his son Alexander, who will turn nine next month.

“We learned about the festival from the city parents’ council. I really wanted to spend time with my son and family. We also got acquainted with the “Yard Dad” project, which takes place not far from our house, and we will gladly take part in it,” shared Mikhail.

At the site of the Yard Dad project, sports passions were in full swing. Under the guidance of experienced dad-coaches, boys and girls mastered the intricacies of mini-basketball. The guys honed their throwing technique, learned to work well as a team and developed their speed and coordination.

“Holding a family festival has become a good tradition that opens the summer holidays. We introduce parents to games so that they spend more time with their children and become closer to each other. In the Year of Unity, this is especially important, because the family is the conductor of culture and traditions. It is at home that the understanding is laid that the country’s strength lies in unity,” said Marina Chernyshkova, deputy head of the main education department.

Among other things, as part of the event, parents received expert advice from speech therapists, psychologists, as well as specialists from the Krasnoyarsk Information and Methodological Center on issues of additional education for children.

We would like to add that the festival was organized within the framework of the municipal program “Promoting the development of civil society in Krasnoyarsk.” Its goal is to strengthen interethnic harmony.
