In Krasnoyarsk, two lawyers were found guilty of bribing a witness in an extortion case. The prosecutor's office of the Krasnoyarsk region reported this.

According to the court, in the summer of 2025, a lawyer from St. Petersburg, who defended the defendant in an extortion case, decided to influence a key witness. His testimony confirmed the defendant's involvement in the crime. To do this, he involved an acquaintance in the scheme, a lawyer from one of the Krasnoyarsk colleges.

The witness was asked to change his testimony and declare in court that the defendant was not involved. For this he was promised 150 thousand rubles and given a pre-prepared text.

“I gave him a printed text, which he had to read out verbatim in court, and said that he would be paid for this,” confirmed one of the defendants.

When the witness stated that he would come to court only after an advance payment, 50 thousand rubles were transferred to him through a proxy. However, the man did not appear in court on the appointed day, refused false testimony and reported the attempted bribery to the Russian FSB Directorate for the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

The court found the lawyers guilty of bribing a witness to give false testimony by a group of people by prior conspiracy. Each was fined 40 thousand rubles and banned from practicing law for 2 years.

The court also confiscated the equivalent of the bribe amount and a cell phone to the state.
