Residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory can improve the quality of mobile communications using VoLTE technology, which allows you to talk over a 4G network without interference and simultaneously use the mobile Internet. MTS spoke about the capabilities of the service.
VoLTE (Voice over LTE) technology transmits voice calls over the LTE network. Thanks to this, users can continue to use the Internet during a conversation: chat in instant messengers, check email or use online services.
As experts note, VoLTE is especially useful in places with high load on mobile networks, such as airports, train stations, stadiums, central streets and large shopping centers. In addition, the technology provides higher sound quality compared to regular calls over 2G and 3G networks.
Another advantage is the fast connection. The call is established in approximately 1.5–2 seconds. At the same time, the cost of calls does not change: although the technology uses a data network, Internet traffic during a call is not consumed and is not paid separately.
Owners of most modern smartphones that support this function can use VoLTE. The number must also have the free technology tag “Internet calls” activated. MTS subscribers can check its availability using the command 1116#. If the service has not yet been activated, the user will receive an SMS confirming the connection. If the tag is already activated, this will also be indicated in the message. You can also connect it through the “My MTS” application or your personal account on the operator’s website.
After this, you need to enable the VoLTE function in the smartphone settings. Typically, the required item is located in the mobile network or data section, but its location may differ depending on the device model. On Android smartphones, after activating the function, the VoLTE icon appears in the status bar. Apple devices do not have a separate indicator for this technology.
