Fire at CET West in the Capital, after a transformer caught fire. An RO-Alert message was issued and the power was cut off

A strong fire broke out on Saturday, May 23, at CET West in Bucharest, after a transformer caught fire inside the plant. Large plumes of smoke were seen from a distance.

The representatives of ISU Bucharest-Ilfov said that there were no victims, but the fire also affected a nearby hall.
The transformer is located near those affected by the April 20 fire.

At the intervention from CET West, an RO ALERT message was issued in a radius of approximately 3000 meters around the outbreak.
A short time later, the ISU B-IF firefighters were asked to intervene to extinguish a fire at a transformer in the CET Vest premises, on bld. Timisoara, sector 6, Bucharest.
“From the first information, the fire manifests itself with large releases of smoke and a RoAlert message will be sent to inform and warn the population”transmitted ISU Bucharest-Ilfov.

To manage the emergency situation, 8 fire trucks, 1 height intervention and rescue truck, 1 extrication truck, the Special Rescue Detachment, the robot transport truck and 2 SMURD ambulances were alerted.
“At this moment, an intervention device was made, considering the fact that the representatives of the objective interrupted the electricity supply”, ISU Bucharest-Ilfov also announced.
It is the second fire to occur at CET West in a recent period.
A similar incident occurred on April 20, in the premises of the same power plant in the Capital, when several emergency vehicles intervened on the scene.
