The president of the Supreme Medical Chamber, Łukasz Jankowski, commented on the level of doctors' earnings. — The average earnings of doctors on a contract with six years of practice are PLN 20,000-30,000. PLN gross – said Jankowski in the Poranny Ring SE program. He added that there are about 600 doctors in Poland earning over PLN 100,000. PLN gross. – Usually these are specialists, of whom there are very few on the market, so they can afford to set tough financial conditions – he explained.
The Ministry of Health has prepared a draft law – wants to link information on doctors' remuneration with the PESEL number and the right to practice the profession (PWZ).
The data would be collected by the Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Tariff System (AOTMiT). Currently, the agency receives anonymized salary information from hospitals and clinics.

The agency argued that this would allow for more precise analyzes of labor costs and would result in an “even more adequate determination” of benefit valuations. AOTMiT also argued that there is no information on the amount of remuneration of a specific person if he or she is employed in a given entity under both a contract, a civil law contract or an employment contract.
Doctors' salaries – data according to PESEL
Jakub Kosikowski, spokesman for the Supreme Medical Chamber, told PAP that AOTMiT currently has all the data necessary to determine the valuation of benefits, including the amount of remuneration of doctors employed under employment contracts, civil law contracts and contracts. These data also include specializations, geographical distribution of specialists and the types of hospitals that employ them. He sees no reason to link remuneration with the PESEL or PWZ number – he pointed to the risk of data leakage.

Health Minister Jolanta Sobierańska-Grenda said on TVN24 that when it comes to remuneration for doctors, the ministry wants to introduce a “transparent system”in the creation of which he will cooperate with the Supreme Medical Chamber. However, the Chamber does not support the direction of changes.
Another issue regarding remuneration in the health service is the percentage of remuneration in hospital budgets. The ministry would like it to reach 60-70 percent.
