It's time to plant cabbage in the ground, but it hasn't grown for several days? You may have made 3 common mistakes related to cold soil and overwatering. The author of the Zen channel “Volzhsky Garden” told how to get rid of these mistakes and awaken seedlings in a short time.
Mistake #1: Cold soil
Even if the room is +22 °C, the soil temperature can barely reach +15 °C, because the tray is placed on a draft or a cold windowsill. Cabbage does not grow at this temperature (it needs at least +18 °C), the leaves turn pale, and the roots do not absorb nitrogen.
The solution is simple: place the container on a wooden stand or foam sheets. And do not burn the seedlings outside with a phytolamp – 12 hours of lighting a day is enough.
Mistake #2: Overfilling
Are you afraid of drought and constantly water your seedlings? Then the roots will rot. If the stem has softened and darkened, then your cabbage is suffering in the swamp.
Solution: wait until the soil dries out, then feed the seedlings.
Mistake #3: Not getting enough nutrients
Light green leaves indicate a lack of nitrogen, and new ones have not been seen for a long time. Typically, this condition is typical for seedlings with purchased soil: it contains enough nutrients for 2 weeks.
To get rid of the effects of stress, feed cabbage with zircon, a growth regulator. Dilute 1 ml per 10 liters of water and spray on a leaf in the evening. And nitroammofoska will stimulate root growth – just dilute 10 g in 10 liters of water and pour it under the root.
