TOP 3 ways to get rid of dandelions for the season – without chemicals or a shovel

For many years now, May has greeted us with a familiar picture: the sun is shining, and instead of a green lawn there are solid yellow “heads” of dandelions. You dig them with a spatula, and the next day a new heroic weed is already climbing out of the root remaining in the ground. And if you pour chemicals on them, both normal flowers and the earth itself suffer.

But there is good news: you can really cope with dandelion. Moreover, remove it entirely and without nuclear chemistry. Three proven techniques were revealed by the author of the Zen channel “Sinichka Hairstyles” (12+).

Black film method

Cover the area where dandelions grow with dark spunbond or roofing felt. Only the material must be dense so as not to allow light or air to pass through. Press down on top with bricks.

Under the film the earth will warm up to 40–50 degrees. The greens will dry out, the roots will cook from the heat and, without air, will begin to rot. After 3-4 weeks, remove the cover and simply rake everything that remains.

Salt and Vinegar: Aimed Shot at the Spine

Suitable when the enemy is hanging out alone right in the strawberry patch or among the flowers. It is safe for neighboring plants if you do everything carefully.

Take a glass of ordinary 9% vinegar, two tablespoons of salt and a teaspoon of liquid soap (so that the composition sticks to the leaves). Mix in a spray bottle. On a dry day without wind, spray only on the dandelion leaves. Within a couple of hours the plant will wither and the root will dissolve from the acid.

“If it gets on cultivated plants, it will also destroy them. Therefore, either water it with a spoon at the root, or fence off your neighbors with film,” the author shares.

Hot sauna

The fastest option that works in seconds. Ideal for cracks in tiles, under fences or in front gardens.

Heat the kettle to boiling. Pour boiling water directly into the center of the dandelion rosette – where all the leaves grow from. Inside the root cells, the protein immediately folds, and the plant can no longer recover.

One dandelion requires half a liter of boiling water. Within a day it will turn black, and within a week it will turn into dry garbage.
