Lawyer Ivanova stated about the discrediting campaign and pressure from the Irpin deputy Oleksandr Pikulyk. According to her, Pikulyk initiated searches of her and her relatives, fabricating a criminal case. This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the story of Channel 5.
According to Makarenko's lawyer, Ivanova began to receive threats, and later became a participant in fabricated criminal proceedings.
“My home, my car and the notary's office where my mother works were searched. I would like to emphasize separately that the search carried out in the notary's office – the workplace of a private notary of the Zaporizhzhia City Notary District and my mother – and this is the only reason I am connected to this premises – is inadmissible in a rule of law.
From the search warrants, I learned that the Office of the Prosecutor General and the State Security Service of the National Police of Ukraine are conducting a pre-trial investigation into an attempt to fraudulently seize Pikulyk's property. In this parallel reality, it is my client who exerts physical and psychological pressure on Pikulyk and his representative Evgenia Rostolopa, with the aim of obtaining extra profit and personal enrichment. Interrogated as a witness, Rostolopa reports on preparations to deliberately damage her vehicle by setting it on fire.”
